Our Smart Home Series not only lets you ask yourself, “What if?” but it provides you with the resources to learn how to do it yourself and save money or become a certified installer.
Think about the following events:
Your automated driveway alert system announces that a guest has arrived.
What if the family is around back in the yard? Will they miss the guest ringing the front door bell?
What if it's dark when the guest arrives? Should we not automate some driveway lighting? If you are vacuuming or listening to music, will you miss the guest at the door?
Would you like to see a camera image of the car entering the driveway on all TV sets in the house? Would placing the camera image in picture in a picture (PIP) on the main TV set be more convenient than just rudely chaining the channel in the middle of the family’s favorite TV show?
If no-one is home why not record the camera images of the visitor on a VCR? Then automatically play it back when the family returns home. Should you also make an automated voice announcement to the family after returning home that a recording was made of a visitor they missed while away from home?
Would the family members like to be notified by an automated phone call (while away) that a guest is at their home? If notified by an automated phone call, would they like to view their driveway or front door cameras in real time over the internet?
When notified by an automated phone call, would they like to be able to speak to the guest at the door in real time? Could you unlock the door and disarm security from a remote location to let a contractor into the home?
Technology can make your life easier.
Smart Home Basics is the beginning. Think about saving security.
Think about saving money. Think
